The Nayarit Riviera offers many family-friendly hotels. The beaches located in Michoacan are really beautiful and ready to receive travelers looking for camping adventures.

In Loreto Beach, located in Baja California Sur, a tourist gently stroking a whale
In Baja California and Puerto Vallarta it’s possible to contemplate and swim with gray and humpback whales, and to watch rays and dolphins.
From the end of December to the end of March, when travelers have time to visit marvelous places, Mexican shores offer a spectacular option.
The gray whale in Baja California peninsula and the humpback whale in the waters of Puerto Vallarta and Nayarit riviera, migrate to Mexican shores in search of a milder climate than Alaska’s, in order to complete their reproductive cycle and breed.
This is a magic and awesome period. Tourists visiting those shores will testify imposing movements of these great animals that for the first time share the sea with all their newborns.
In Baja California, four places offer a unique experience for whale-watching, where it is also possible to see dolphins, sea lions, rays and all kind of sea birds. First of all, Ensenada is a place where boats can spend several days watching cetacean greatness.
South of Ensenada, there are other two amazing whale-watching sites: Guerrero Negro and Laguna San Ignacio, where trips are taken by smaller boats in order to avoid perturbing the whales’ environment, and will hopefully allow you to gently stroke the whales if they get close enough to the boat. Cabo Pulmo National Park, a natural reserve located northeast of San José del Cabo, is also a great option.
Further south from these places, humpback whales can also be seen swimming great distances for the same purpose as the gray whales.
In the Nayarit Riviera and Puerto Vallarta, the best option to take part in a magical moment with these cetaceans is close to Bahía de Banderas, where whales and dolphins exist in abundance. Many tourist facilities cater to first time visitors.
There are planned whale-watching trips for visitors to take pictures and others for touching whales. There are also specific trips guided by mammal experts who explain the whale’s reproductive cycle in detail.

Mexicans have a great fondness for the practice of field trips and thus to camping. Every corner of our forests and beaches are ideal for spending a weekend in a tent, which can also serve as a post for star gazing at night or to take short walks to appreciate the great diversity of local flora and fauna, and visit rural communities to know and understand their traditions, rituals, folklore and eating habits.
Given the geography of Mexican states, some of them are preferred by scouts for camping, given the beauty and accessibility of their forests, lakes and lagoons. The most popular are Jalisco, San Luis Potosi, Morelos, Baja California, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Michoacán, and others.
For young tourists, however, beaches are the favorite destinations, and you will find hundreds of tents protected from the sun under palapas on the coasts of Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca and the Mayan Riviera. These places, usually small communities that live off tourism, provide places to eat, where to camp, and sanitary services.
Mountains and volcanoes provide great challenges for the more experienced, who do not hesitate to venture into unknown territory to appreciate nature in its purest form.
To experience the joys of camping, it's best to start with a weekend, which will help you forget the daily routine for a few days without taking on complex challenges. Enjoy nights of storytelling, outdoor games and open fires.
Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Veracruz, Chiapas, Michoacan and Tlaxcala are again popular destinations thanks to their geography and culture, and people escaping for a weekend from the capital of the country elect national parks that combine comfort with safety and outdoor activities. Among these are El Chico National Park, and Tolantongo caves in Hidalgo, Las Estacas Natural Water Park in Morelos and lots of forest areas with a long tradition in the Eje Neovolcánico.
The biggest advantage of camping in the most beautiful places in Mexico is that you need a small budget, and campers will be happy to find uncrowded and pristine places.

Great mills and buildings dedicated to evangelize are now evidence of Mexican history
History could be either studied or enjoyed. An incredible contact with the past can be experienced in the Sierra Madre of Querétaro and the Baja California and Yucatán peninsulas.
Sierra Gorda, a quiet shelter of five Franciscan Missions declared as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, is located in the middle of Sierra Madre Oriental at North of Queretaro State. The five missions are: Santiago de Jalpan, Nuestra Señora de la Luz de Tancoyol, San Miguel Conca, Santa Maria del Agua de Landa and San Francisco.
Along the California coast, there are several missions from the evangelisation age, such as the one dedicated to Nuestra Señora de Loreto Concho (Our Lady of Loreto Conchó), San Francisco Javier Vigge Biaundo and Santa Rosalía de Mulegé.
Besides the mysticism, the Mission of Santo Domingo and Santo Tomás de Aquino remember pages of great battles, since they were military stations along the Mexican border.
Another vestige are the Mexican Colonial haciendas, they belonged to ecclesiastical orders in some cases, although they were mostly dedicated to production: sugar in Morelos, henequen in Yucatán, pulque in Hidalgo, cattle in Tlaxcala, miner in Guanajuato, cereals in Puebla, cotton in Durango, tequila in Jalisco, coffee in Chiapas and wine in Coahuila, they have been turned into singular hotels in natural, rural and urban environments, keeping spaces, machinery and materials from the colonial times.
Most of the current haciendas are located in rural and natural spaces and thanks to their magnificent building features they are becoming ideal travel destinations, defined by their calm atmosphere and evident Mexican character. About 95 percent of them have gardens, full service, sport activities, and health and relaxation facilities.
They offer a remarkable gastronomy, from the regional typical food to the most famous and creative international dishes.
The Hacienda Parador San Javier in Guanajuato, Katanchel in Merida, Uayamon located in Campeche and Sepúlveda symbol of Lagos de Moreno Jalisco, are some good options that you can’t miss while visiting Mexico.
Finally, there are the Ex- Property Mission La Muralla, the Hacienda-hotel Jurica and Misión Concá in Querétaro, Cantalagua in Contepec (Michoacán), San Miguel Regla and Huasca de Ocampo in Hidalgo, among others.
